Utah Days of ’47 Rodeo debuts Utah Cowgirl Collective

SALT LAKE CITY (March 8, 2023) – In celebration of Women’s History Month, the Utah Days of ’47 Rodeo in Salt Lake City is excited to debut their latest program called Utah Cowgirl Collective. The Utah Days of ’47 Rodeo, July 19-22, and 24, continues to expand its educational and charitable impact in the state of Utah, along with continued efforts to promote the western lifestyle by creating and empowering the Utah Cowgirl Collective.

The Utah Cowgirl Collective will be comprised of six cowgirl ambassadors, selected from the region, that will commit to a yearlong service to help the community, educate the youth on the western lifestyle and promote connection, kinship and cowgirl grit to all women.

“By educating and promoting the pioneer heritage and western lifestyle, this program will enhance the quality of life in our community through individual and family services, community programs and partnerships with other organizations,” said Tommy Joe Lucia, General Manager of the Utah Days of ’47 Rodeo. “This is a new platform for today’s cowgirls and we are excited to see the impact it has on our young ladies and community.”

Six women ambassadors, ages 17 to 25 residing in Utah, Idaho or Wyoming, will be selected to join this prestigious organization to promote the western way of life and the annual Utah Days of ’47 Rodeo. We are looking for cowgirls that exhibit great horsemanship skills and embody Western culture. Each member of the Utah Cowgirl Collective, upon completing a year of service and fulfilling all obligations, will receive a $10,000 scholarship for continuing education.

The Utah Cowgirl Collective believes in creating opportunities for building relationships, evolving the natural true grit in every woman while maintaining a foundation of compassion and kindness for all. Through charitable work in the community, social gatherings, workshops, and training sessions, we are building new leaders within the Western lifestyle.
