SALT LAKE CITY (February 12, 2024) – Catching Big Air is not reserved for the ski slopes and skateboard park but can also be found each summer at the Days of ’47 Arena, home to the Utah Days of ’47 Rodeo presented by Zions Bank. Tickets are on sale now for the Only Gold Medal Rodeo in the World.

Join us July 19-20, 22-24 in the heart of Salt Lake City as cowboys and cowgirls battle it out for one-of-a-kind gold, silver and bronze medals just days before the Opening Ceremony of the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris, France. Tickets start at just $18 before fees and can be purchased by going to www.utahdaysof47rodeo.com. Buy early to get the best seats available.

Last year, two of our gold medalists – saddle bronc rider Zeke Thurston and barrel racer Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi – turned their gold medal performance in Salt Lake City into a gold buckle at season’s end in Las Vegas.

“The Utah Days of ’47 Rodeo is a must stop during the summer for PRCA and WPRA contestants alike,” stated Tommy Joe Lucia, Executive Director of the Utah Days of ’47 Rodeo. “Money won here plays an important role in determining Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (NFR) qualifiers and eventual world champions. Not only will PRCA and WPRA contestants have a chance to walk away with a pocket full of cash, but they will get the opportunity to win a gold, silver or bronze medal, a staple at this rodeo since 2017, making it the only Gold Medal Rodeo in the world.”

The Gold Standard in Rodeo will offer nearly 600 competitors a chance to compete for their share of close to three-quarters of a million dollars in prize money. Featured events will include Bareback Riding, Saddle Bronc Riding and Bull Riding as well as Steer Wrestling, Team Roping, Tie-Down Roping, Breakaway Roping and Barrel Racing.

The Utah Days of ’47 Rodeo will take place at the $17.5 million state-of-the-art Days of ’47 Arena at the Utah State Fairpark, custom designed and built for rodeo. The venue—an outdoor arena located in the heart of Salt Lake City—features over 10,000 stadium-style seats.

Other than the Utah Days of ’47 Rodeo, only two other times in the history of the sport have cowboys and cowgirls been able to compete for gold, silver, or bronze medals. Those opportunities were in conjunction with the Olympic Winter Games in Calgary (1988) and Salt Lake City (2002), when rodeo was part of the Cultural Olympiad. The medals that will be awarded at the Utah Days of '47 Rodeo will be produced by OC Tanner, the same company that made the Olympic medals for the champions of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games.

Tickets are NOW on sale at www.utahdaysof47rodeo.com.
