Press Release: Powder River Rodeo and D & H Cattle Best of the Best

Powder River Rodeo and D & H Cattle were nominated for the 7th time for PRCA Stock Contractor of the Year in 2017. Nominated and selected as one of the top 5 nominees out of 80 PRCA stock contractors in America and Canada. Powder River Rodeo is entering their 33rd year of producing and supplying livestock to Top PRCA rodeos.

Caldwell, ID one of the top 20 rodeos in America was nominated for the 7th time for Top Large Rodeo in the PRCA. Powder River Rodeo has been their stock contractor for the last 14 years.

Powder Rivers amazing athlete and 2016 PRCA Bareback Horse of the Year was voted in as the Reserve World Champion Bareback Horse for 2017 and also tied for the Top Bareback Horse of the National Finals Rodeo. Craig was scored 48 points out of 50 in Reno, NV in 2017 and won the Top Bareback Horse of the rodeo. He consistently has been scored 44 to 48 points over the last 3 years of pro rodeo action. He weighs in at 1700 pounds and is one of the biggest bucking horses in the business.

The bulls of D & H Cattle were at the top of their game in 2017. Bruiser, the 2016-2017 PBR Bull of the year was also selected as the 2017 PRCA Bucking Bull of the Year he is definitely the best in the world. Bruiser’s world champion selection in both the PRCA and PBR in one year has only happened one other time in the history of these two associations with “Bodacious”. Bruiser was also named the Top Bucking Bull of the National Finals Rodeo, a very prestigious award when you are selected by your performance as the best out of the best!

Powder River Rodeo and D & H Cattle was one of the top 5 stock contractors at the National Finals Rodeo with 16 head of animals selected to the prestigious finals. Horses selected were Craig At Midnight, Cactus Juice, Miss Chestnut, Cowboy Casino, Rich N Fancy, Show Me Again and After Party. Bulls selected: Sweet Pro’s Bruiser, Struttin Stuff, Heartbreak Kid, Mudshark, Hurricane Hustler, Jack Shot, Udder Lover, Wild Goose and Mind Freak.

Show Me Again and Ryder Wright teamed up for 92 points and the 8th go-round win. Their ride was the highest marked ride in both the Bareback and Saddle Bronc riding during the 10 days of rodeo. Show Me Again an outstanding ranch raised young mare has really been making her mark in the rodeo world. World Champion Jessi Kruse was 88 points and won the Saddle Bronc riding at the N.I.L.E. PRCA rodeo in Billings, MT just a couple months before the NFR.
